What we collect
When you contact us or book a call. If you fill in our contact form we collect the details you type in: your name, work email, firm name, country, practice area, team size, how soon you need support, and your message. When you are sent on to book a call, Calendly receives your name and email so you do not have to type them twice. Calendly’s own privacy policy covers what it does with them.
When you visit the site. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, how you arrived (for example from Google search), your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser, and which buttons and links you click (such as “Book a discovery call”, phone and email links). We do not use this to identify you personally.
Technical data our website and security tools record. Like all web servers, ours keeps standard access logs (your IP address, browser and the pages requested). Our security tools (Wordfence and Loginizer) log visitor IP addresses to block attacks and failed logins, and Wordfence may share IP addresses with its threat-intelligence service. Some site fonts load from Google’s servers, and author images on blog pages load from Gravatar (Automattic), so both receive your IP address when those pages load.
Your cookie choice. Our cookie banner (Complianz) stores your choice in a cookie on your device.
If you email or call us. We keep what you send us so we can reply.
We do not collect payment details through this website. We do not use chat widgets, newsletter tools, advertising pixels (such as Meta or LinkedIn), session-recording tools or reCAPTCHA.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare for a call with you.
- To understand which pages and services people are interested in, so we can improve the site.
We rely on your consent for analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries you send us.
Cookies and your choice
The first time you visit, a cookie banner asks whether to allow analytics cookies. Google Analytics only runs if you accept. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link on the site. The full list of cookies is in our Cookie Policy (UK): bostonbservices.com/cookie-policy-uk/
How long we keep it
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, then it is deleted automatically.
- Contact form and call details: for as long as we need them to reply to you and follow up on your enquiry, and longer if you become a client.
- Contact form emails: the website does not store form submissions in WordPress, but our email plugin keeps a log of emails the site sends, including form contents, for 14 days, then deletes it automatically. The copy that arrives in our inbox is kept as described above.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. It is handled by the services that run the site and our calls:
- Google (Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies; Google Workspace, which runs our email and delivers contact form messages; Google Fonts)
- Calendly (call booking)
- Namecheap (website hosting and domain)
- Automattic (Gravatar images)
- Wordfence (security, may receive IP addresses)
The services we use to run this site are based in the United States. If you are visiting from the UK, your information is processed there, and these providers use recognised safeguards for UK data.
Your rights
If you are in the UK you can ask us to: see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or give you a copy to move elsewhere. You can withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time. To use any of these, email info@bostonbservices.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Visitors in the US can email us with the same requests.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not aimed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top.
